Lucknow: In a significant administrative move, the Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday ordered the transfer of 12 Indian Police Service (IPS) and 35 Provincial Police Service (PPS) officers, reshaping the policing structure across several key districts and commissionerates.
The reshuffle, aimed at strengthening law and order and enhancing efficiency in sensitive regions, includes officers from the 2019, 2020, and 2022 IPS batches. They have been assigned to crucial roles such as Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) City, ASP Rural, ASP Naxal, and positions in specialized units like PAC and SDRF.
The changes will impact major districts including Lucknow, Meerut, Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Ghaziabad, with a focus on bolstering policing in crime-prone and Naxal-affected areas.
Key IPS Transfers
- Twinkle Jain has been appointed ADCP in Lucknow Police Commissionerate, transferred from Gautam Buddh Nagar.
- Rishabh Runwal has been moved from Lucknow to Sonbhadra as ASP (Naxal).
- Sagar Jain has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police in Prayagraj from Saharanpur.
- Manoj Kumar Rawat will take charge as ASP (South) in Sambhal from Gonda.
- Ayush Vikram Singh has been appointed ASP City in Bahraich from Meerut.
- Vinayak Gopal Bhosle has been transferred from Sitapur to Meerut as ASP City.
- Antariksh Jain moves from Meerut to Bulandshahr as ASP Rural.
- Lipi Nagayach has been posted as ADCP in Varanasi Police Commissionerate from Ghaziabad.
- Rajkumar Meena has been assigned as ASP (Naxal) in Mirzapur from Prayagraj.

The reshuffle also includes significant changes in the PPS cadre:

- Jaya Shandilya has been posted as ASP LIU in Meerut from Lucknow.
- Ashok Kumar Singh has been appointed Deputy Commandant at SDRF Headquarters in Lucknow from Bahraich.
- Sanjeev Kumar Sinha has been moved to Police Headquarters as ASP from Raebareli.
- Alok Singh III has been transferred from Prayagraj to Raebareli as ASP.
- Ajit Kumar Rajak has been posted as ASP (East) in Gonda from Jaunpur.
- Dr Tejveer Singh has been appointed ASP City (East) in Ambedkar Nagar from Bulandshahr.
- Shyam Dev has been transferred to Fatehpur PAC as Deputy Commandant.
- Manish Kumar Mishra has been posted as ASP Rural in Aligarh from Mirzapur.
In addition, several other officers—including Shyam Dev, Pradeep Kumar Verma, Avneesh Kumar Mishra, Shweta Kumari Yadav, Kripa Shankar, Sneha Tiwari, Raghvendra Kumar Mishra, Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, Vivek Tripathi, Pankaj Kumar Srivastava, Abhishek Kumar Singh, and Shankar Prasad—have been assigned new roles across units such as SSF, Traffic, PAC, CBCID, and police training institutions.

Officials stated that the reshuffle is part of a broader strategy to strengthen policing in high-priority zones, improve administrative efficiency, and ensure better handling of crime, traffic, and internal security challenges.
The move is expected to bring fresh momentum to the state’s policing system, particularly in urban centres and sensitive districts.
